Letter from Ralph Vaughan Williams to Joan Western

Letter No.:
September 16 [1935]

From R. Vaughan Williams,
The White Gates,
Westcott Road,

Dear Mrs Western

Many thanks for the new circulars.  If Miss Cohen1 will stick to her original idea and borrow a drawing room for a recital I suppose we must gratefully accept - But we must firmly stick out against anything that will involve us in expense.
I am next in London, naturally, on Wednesday 25 - Would that be too far on for a Committee meeting?2
Yours sincerely

R. Vaughan Williams

1.  Harriet Cohen.
2.  The letter relates to a proposed concert in aid of the Gustav Holst Memorial Fund.  See VWL822.
