Letter from Ralph Vaughan Williams to Olga Koussevitsky

Letter No.:
June 19th 1954.

From R. Vaughan Williams,
10, Hanover Terrace,
Regents Park,
London, N.W.1.

Dear Mrs Koussevitsky,
It seems churlish to have to refuse your generous and flattering invitation to do honour to a memory of a musician for whom I have such admiration; but I find that if I promise work that is unfinished, or only in prospect, the result is fatal, and it would be a poor tribute to the memory of your husband to send you anything but my best.
Yours sincerely,
R Vaughan Williams
