Letter from Ralph Vaughan Williams to Marion Scott

Letter No.:
[1 Feb 1922]

13, Cheyne Walk,
Chelsea, S.W.3.

Dear Miss Scott

This is rather a difficult question - could you hear the 4tet and judge of it. If G.1 was able to hear it & rouse himself to criticize it, it might be good for him - if not, then it seems to me he wd be no worse
I feel sure that Jacob2 has charged correctly.
Yrs sincerely
R Vaughan Williams

1. Ivor Gurney. Marion Scott was a close friend and advocate for Gurney one his health deteriorated.
2. Gordon Jacob - perhaps he had arranged or completed a quartet by Gurney.
