Letter from Ralph Vaughan Williams to Elizabeth Maconchy

Letter No.:
Jan 23 [1947]

The White Gates

Dearest Betty

The 4tet is fine.1  I wish I cd have heard it again – But on Wed: Adeline fell very ill – she is better now & I believe out of danger – but Wed: was the crisis day.2
So dear Betty don’t talk any more nonsense about giving up composing – but go on from strength to strength
all love

Uncle Ralph
