Letter from Adeline Vaughan Williams to Gerald Finzi

Letter No.:
Monday [9th January 1939]

From R. Vaughan Williams,
The White Gates,
Westcott Road,

Dear Gerald

R & I listened in last night & though it’s quite absurd for me to say a word I want to thank you for ‘The Sigh’1. I listened with the thought ‘can it go on being so perfect’ & it did to the end.
I admired ‘Summer Schemes’2 so much & now there is this to be grateful for as well -
Love to you both
